For Rebecca Moss, honoring her family’s deep commitment to The Kinkaid School is both a privilege and a responsibility. Representing the estates of her father, Gary “Brent” Moss ’65, and her uncle, Joseph “Barry” Moss, a beloved teacher and leader at Kinkaid for 44 years, Rebecca is ensuring their legacy of support continues through thoughtful estate gifts.

The Moss family has already established the Barry Moss Distinguished Speaker Endowment Fund and the Joseph Barry Moss and Gary Brent Moss Fellowship in Humanities. “Barry was committed to the humanities, advancing education for teachers and students, and enabling exposure to cultures, history, and perspectives outside the classroom,” Rebecca explains. “These opportunities enrich the Kinkaid community and embody the totality of what education is, a lifelong journey.”

Now it is the family’s intention to include additional support, including a percentage of will assets designated to sustain these programs and potentially expand opportunities, such as student travel experiences during academic breaks.
Rebecca hopes their legacy inspires others to consider planned gifts of their own. “Is there a gap in opportunity or need that would benefit from small or large gifts from the greater Kinkaid community? ABSOLUTELY! Through donations of all sizes and scope, this provides opportunity to all for profound positive change and impact.”
